The Glamour Boys have struggled in the league so far, which has added extra importance to the MTN8 for them, whereas the defending MTN8 champions have got off to a flier in the league, winning three of their opening four games.

At the root of Chiefs’ issues has been their defensive instability. Furman, however, admitted in the buildup to the game that his side will have to play smart against the Soweto giants.

‘We just want to win the game, we know this is a fantastic tournament, that we have great memories in and we are in a semi-final and we want to go all the way.

‘We know we have got to push to win the game, but we also have to play smart.

‘We know if we open up too much, that’s when Chiefs can hurt you,’ added the Bafana Bafana international.

‘We can’t over-exert our forward players, because we are cautious of what Chiefs can do on the break. There is a game plan we are going to have to work on in training and hopefully, we can carry that out on Saturday night,’ concluded Furman.
