Cape Town City midfielder Thabo Nodada says his side are focused on returning to winning ways in the Absa Premiership when they take on Kaizer Chiefs at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, writes DYLAN APPOLIS.
The Citizens have claimed one win, two drawn and one defeat in their first four PSL games and currently occupy seventh place in the league standings with five points while Amakhosi are in 13th place with four points.
Nodada admits that his side will try and keep their nerves against Chiefs while insisting that their preparations for the upcoming fixture have been going according to plan.
‘The preparations have been fine. It’s obviously a big game with the crowd and everything that’s expected to be at the stadium,’ Nodada said.
‘We are trying to restore our winning ways in the league because if you look at it, we’ve only got one win in the league. We are high-flying in the cup and we are trying to downplay the nerves.
The 23-year-old midfielder has urged his side to avoid conceding yellow cards in their next game to prevent players from being suspended for their next two fixture against Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United in the MTN8 final.
‘Also, because we’ve got people on yellow cards and people on bookings, we wouldn’t want to miss any of the games that are coming.’
‘But I think we’ve been generally very relaxed and doing the things we do well well and trying to perfect them and just waiting for the day and (hope) to do what needs to be done on the day,’ he concluded.
Cape Town City against Kaizer Chiefs kicks off at 3pm.
