Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase says he is relishing the chance to take on Cape Town City at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday.

The Glamour Boys have had a difficult start to their campaign and currently occupy 13th place on the Absa Premiership standings with four points from five games while the Citizens are seventh with five points from four games.

Ntshangase says he is excited to play in front of the Amakhosi supporters, who come out in numbers to support their team in the Mother City.

‘Playing in Cape Town feels like playing at home,’ Ntshangase told his club’s official website.

‘Our supporters always come out in numbers to support us in the Mother City. We are looking forward to the game.’

The Chiefs midfielder added that he is thankful to the Fifa international break, which gave his side the chance to improve their tactics and set-pieces during their two-week break.

‘We worked a lot on our shape,’ he added, ‘where to be on the pitch at what time in relation to be ball and your opponent.’

A few players were on international duty during the international break, including Itumeleng Khune, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Khama Billiat, Teenage Hadebe, Virgil Vries and Godfrey Walusimbi.

‘They will have gained a lot of experience from playing for their respective national teams,’ Ntshangase said.

‘And that will help us in our game on Saturday.’

The 25-year-old midfielder has been one of Amakhosi’s stand-out performers this season, although he believes their is room for improvement.

‘I didn’t get many opportunities to play last season. ‘I am happy to get game-time this season, although I am not as yet entirely happy with my performances so far. I need to get better and I am working hard at training to do that.

Speaking on their game against Cape Town, Ntshangase said: ‘As Kaizer Chiefs we always go for the three points and will do the same on Saturday.’

The match at Cape Town Stadium kicks off at 3pm.
