Kaizer Chiefs striker Bernard Parker believes the new additions to the Amakhosi family have brought a new dimension to the team.

The Glamour Boys had a slow start to the season, which saw them fail to claim a win in their first five Absa Premiership games while also getting eliminated from the MTN8 by SuperSport United at the semi-final stage of the competition.

However, Amakhosi have since turned their campaign around by claiming two consecutive wins against Cape Town City and Free State Stars.

The Soweto giants have since moved up to fourth in the league standings with 10 points from their first seven games, trailing log leaders Bidvest Wits by three points.

Coach Giovanni Solinas bolstered the Chiefs squad by acquiring the services of Khama Billiat, Andriamirado ‘Dax’ Andrianarimanana, Letlhogonolo Mirwa, Virgil Vries, Mario Booysen, Godfrey Walusimbi and Lebogang Manyama in the hope of ending their three-year trophy drought.

However, Parker believes the club’s new signings have made the team better and have added great value to the squad, especially in the scoring department after they scored six goals in two games while conceding only one.

‘We’ve been getting goals. We make errors here and there but we’re big boys and we’re taking responsibility. We’ve been able to work more on our combinations,’ Parker told the media.

‘The new guys have shown we can bring a new dimension to the team.’

Kaizer Chiefs will be hoping to claim their third consecutive win when they welcome AmaZulu to the FNB Stadium on Saturday with kick-off set for 6pm.
