Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas has hailed the competition for places at the club after making numerous changes to his starting XI yet again in the 2-0 win over AmaZulu.
After picking up their first win of their Absa Premiership campaign with a 4-1 victory over Cape Town City last weekend, Solinas raised eyebrows by making seven changes to his lineup as Chiefs went on to beat Free State Stars 2-0 on Tuesday evening.

The Italian then made six changes to the side who beat Stars as Chiefs went on to make it three wins in a row in the Absa Premiership after defeating AmaZulu.
Speaking after the game to SuperSport TV, Solinas admitted that healthy competition for places is vital at a club the size of the Soweto giants, who have to challenge on all fronts.
‘We have a lot of players in the squad, we have a lot of good players. So the competition to play is very important.

‘Every player can play; this is good because Kaizer Chiefs is a big club. We don’t only need 11 players but we also need good players on the bench.’
Solinas then added that he was impressed with his side’s performance against Usuthu, highlighting their defensive improvements as a vital aspect in their turnaround.
‘I’m very happy about the performance and the result. I think my players deserved to win this game, they played a beautiful game. So I’m happy for me, my players, the club and our fans.
‘Defensively, the job is much better. The whole team is involved in the defensive job. They support each other.
‘In the PSL, every game is difficult, no easy game. So now we’ll have two days off and we’ll restart the preparation for the next game,’ Solinas concluded.
