Cricket South Africa have enlisted the help of the Board of Control for Cricket India (BCCI) for the new T20 league, which will be played later this year.
The BCCI boast plenty of experience, having hosted 11 editions of the Indian Premier League since 2008.
‘I am delighted to announce that the Board of Control for Cricket in India has accepted our invitation to make some of their senior administrators, who have extensive experience in running the IPL, available to assist with the smooth running of our tournament,’ said Moroe.
‘Their experience will be invaluable and will assist in ensuring that the League is one of international standing.’
Earlier this week, CSA and the South African Broadcasting Corporation confirmed a joint exclusive partnership for the tournament. CSA have since invited players to apply for participation in the competition.
The partnership has afforded the SABC exclusive official broadcast rights for the sub-Saharan region – and is covered by a memorandum of understanding for the next three years.
‘This is a landmark moment for cricket in South Africa,’ added Moroe.
‘For the first time, South Africa’s premier public broadcaster will have exclusive rights to a major cricket event and this is very much in line with CSA’s vision of making cricket a truly national sport of excellence that is accessible to all.’
