Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Maluleka is confident his side will claim three points against Highlands Park in their Absa Premiership encounter on Tuesday.
The Glamour Boys will head into their encounter against the Lions of the North occupying third place in the PSL standings with 13 points, trailing log-leaders Orlando Pirates by a point after eight games.
Amakhosi are currently on a three-match winning streak and Maluleka wants his side to continue their momentum in the hope of collecting three points on Tuesday.
‘It has to be three points. Of course, I don’t take anything away from our opponent, but we want to continue our winning run,’ Maluleka told his club’s website.
‘Highlands Park are a good side. It’s always difficult against them, as they are fighters. They also have a very experienced coach in Owen Da Gama.
‘We just need to keep our focus and be mentally strong. We have now won three games in a row and that has given us a lot of faith. We want to build on that. We want to keep the momentum.’
After returning from injury, Maluleka picked up the Man of the Match award in his first league encounter against Free State Stars a fortnight ago before missing Amakhosi’s 2-0 victory over AmaZulu through injury.
‘I had a grass burn on the side of my thigh, which got infected. The doctor advised me to take a bit of a rest to let the wound heal properly,’ he concluded.
Kaizer Chiefs will next take on Highlands Park at the Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa on Tuesday evening with kick-off scheduled for 7:30pm.
