Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Lebese is yet to feature for Mamelodi Sundowns this season, with his agent Steve Kapeluschnik admittedly concerned by his lack of game-time.
Lebese has failed to make the grade at Chloorkop after signing a mega-deal from Chiefs in 2017.
The fan favourite who has slipped behind the likes of Aubrey Ngoma, Themba Zwane, Lyle Lakay and Toni Silva in the pecking order at Masandawana is said to be quite concerned at his lack of game-time with the club.
‘With Lebese … uhh, we are talking to the club,’ his agent told kickoff.
‘We are talking to Sundowns to see if they are prepared to let him get some game-time and they’ve been quite positive.
‘So we just have to kind of take our agency approach and see what happens, but we are speaking to them. He is frustrated because he is not playing. We’ve told them that and they are open to the idea of him going to get some game-time.”
When quizzed about whether or not there was other interest for his client from other clubs, Kapeluschnik claimed that there was none, but did not rule out a move away from Pitso Mosimane’s side in the new transfer window.
‘Well, we are not at that stage yet. It’s November and the window opens in January. The guy is frustrated and they understand that and they are open to us … but we haven’t started looking,’ he concluded.
Lebese has netted two goals in his 16 appearances across all competitions for Sundowns and is contracted with them until 2022.
