Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas says he will not change his coaching philosophy following their impressive performance in the Caf Confederation Cup.
The Glamour Boys got their continental campaign off to a great start after thrashing Tanzanian outfit Zimamoto 4-0 on Wednesday evening through a hat-trick from Khama Billiat, while Kebelo Mahlasela also got his name on the scoresheet.
Solinas insists that he will head into the second leg against the Tanzanian side with the same approach he did in the first leg.
‘In my opinion, Kaizer Chiefs needs to play in the same manner. Play to win. Try to create a lot of chances. Try to play beautiful football, attacking football because we are Kaizer Chiefs,’ Solinas told SuperSport TV after the game.
‘So we will not change our philosophy. At home or away, we always try to play to win and dominate the game.’
The Serbian coach also reserved special praise for Mahlasela, who he believes put in an outstanding performance for Amakhosi after bagging his first goal for the club.
‘Mahlasela is an offensive player. Very fast. In my opinion, he needs to understand the manner to exploit the speed because he is very fast.
‘He needs to create a football style for himself. So we start with the job with him to play in the position as a winger,’ he concluded.
