Then there were just two unbeaten sides after 13 rounds of English Premier League action, writes GARY LEMKE.

Chelsea had their wings clipped at Wembley by an impressive Tottenham side, who interestingly have yet to draw a match from their first 13 games. They’ve won 10 and lost three and now sit a couple of lengths back in third place behind Manchester City and Liverpool, the only two unbeaten teams.

Tottenham don’t do draws, is the story of their season so far, and yet many will be forecasting exactly that when they travel to their fierce north London rivals, Arsenal, in the match of the weekend on Sunday. That pits third against fifth and I’m going for Arsenal to win this one. The Gunners are full of goals – they sit joint second with Chelsea in the goals-for column – but they also concede a few and have the leakiest defence of the top six. My 2-1 in favour of Arsenal in this one ticks all the boxes as I go for an exact score, which has been my Achilles heel all season.

At the top, Man City should have no problems putting visiting Bournemouth to the sword, although it remains a mystery how City can be head and shoulders above all in the Premier League but then are regularly brought down to earth in Europe, a 2-2 midweek draw against Lyon in the Champions League being the latest example.

But with City it’s generally a matter of how big their winning margin. In 13 matches they have won 11 and drawn two, and scored 40 goals while conceding only five. A 3-0 home win will be a popular scoreline by punters, and it’s at 13-2 in the betting.

Liverpool are at home in the Merseyside derby to Everton and this fixture is rarely one-sided. Being at Anfield swings the balance in favour of the Reds for me, but had it been at Goodison Park I’d have gone for the draw.

Chelsea are still smarting from that 3-1 defeat to Spurs, but they’ll be confident of getting back on the winning trail when they host Fulham. The latter are resurgent under new manager Claudio Ranieri, who manufactured a thrilling 3-2 win over Southampton in his first match in charge.

Fulham are an attacking side and I’m backing them to avoid relegation, but they are still the bottom club and I expect them to be there after this round. However, I think they’ll score against Chelsea and be an improved side. But I can’t see them keeping the home team at bay for 90 minutes, and one would expect Chelsea to be stung after last week’s setback and react positively.

The action starts on Friday night with Cardiff hosting Wolves. It’s a tricky encounter featuring two promoted teams, and Wolves, after their flying start have stumbled of late and that brings Cardiff into the contest.

This weekend could also see another manager fired. Southampton are at home to Manchester United and if Mark Hughes’ team are beaten by Jose Mourinho’s, I predict that he will be shown the door by those who make the decisions. Should United not win, then more heat will come Mourinho’s way!
