Cape Town City have been handed a boost after confirming that Ivorian defender Kouassi Kouadja is nearing a return to full fitness.
The 23-year-old sustained a knee injury during the first half of the Citizens’ triumph over SuperSport United in the MTN8 final this year.
The Ivorian defender was carried off the field and was later seen limping on to the field to collect his winner’s medal.
Kouadja has only managed to feature eight times for City this campaign, while being sidelined for seven games after suffering a knee injury.
However, the Mother City-based outfit has since confirmed that Kouadja is on the road to recovery and has begun light training.
