Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane hit out at referee Victor Gomes, who he felt had failed to deal with Baroka’s time-wasting tactics in the two sides goalless draw in the Absa Premiership.
Masandawana failed to collect maximum points in the league clash against the newly-crowned Telkom Knockout champions, with former Bafana Bafana mentor Mosimane proclaiming his unhappiness at the time-wasting tactic of the opponents.
‘The game wanted us to break them down and we couldn’t. They were sitting in and they break the momentum. Once you build combination play, two players fall down,’ Jingles said in post-match comments.
‘When the goalkeeper was down there why, because the player was out? They were waiting and looking for the player to come [back] in and when the player comes back in the keeper stands up.
‘Gomes is experienced, I told him “for you to stop this keep him outside, don’t bring him in”. Don’t bring them in. Keep him outside, let them play with ten men against 11. He won’t do it again.
‘They are a good team, congratulations, but they must play football also, hey,’ he concluded.
