Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic was tight-lipped over any potential arrivals at the Soweto giants, but admitted that the club’s management are working on deals behind the scenes.

Pirates are yet to make additions in the January transfer window after it opened on the first of the month, despite having to compete on a number of fronts in the second half of the season.

Pirates sit just three points behind Bidvest Wits in the Absa Premiership, and will return to action in the Caf Champions League this weekend as they travel to Bulawayo to take on FC Platinum in their opening Group B clash.

Then later in the month, they will kick off their Nedbank Cup campaign against SAB League side Boyne Tigers, as an extremely packed fixture schedule will follow if Pirates are to progress across the various competitions.

Sredojevic was asked after his side’s victory over Chippa United on Tuesday evening if he would be looking to bring in replacements to help in their chase for trophies.

‘This is something that I will not talk about, I will rather focus on the matches ahead. Our management has a report, they know what they are doing behind the scenes, but it is something that will be communicated in due time,’ responded the Serbian coach.

‘You know, with the core of the team we’re having, when you have that bond and family atmosphere, you cannot now come and risk with anything special in this mid-season transfer window,’ he added.

‘This is mainly just for you to go for something that is really urgently needed, otherwise you’re already having a formed team because a team is formed in June-July.’
