Leonardo Castro celebrates goal against Stellenbosch

Kaizer Chiefs forward Leonardo Castro has urged his teammates to maintain a winning mentality after claiming back-to-back wins in the Absa Premiership.

The Glamour Boys secured their second successive win after they beat Maritzburg United 1-0 at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.

The wins sees Amakhosi remain seventh in the league standings with 35 points from 23 games, trailings log leaders Orlando Pirates by five points.

Castro, who was named Man of the Match, insists that his side has to treat their remaining games as final, if they are to remain in the race for the league title.

‘The confidence is higher. It’s two games won, so it’s good for us to keep this performance every weekend,’ Castro told SuperSport TV after the game.

‘Tough game for Kaizer Chiefs. Every game is a final for us, we know the situation of Maritzburg (United). We did our job and were going closer in the table and to our goal.

‘We need to believe in us. It’s not finished the tournament (title race), we need to keep the winning mentality till the end.’

Kaizer Chiefs will now travel SuperSport United when the two sides lock horns at the Mbombela Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Friday, with kick off set for 8pm.
