This sort of form has certainly put Maboe in contention for the top individual award, and he pronounced during a media at Chloorkop on Thursday that he sees him self as a candidate.
‘Yes I would, I mean I’ve been doing well and it’s not up to me to judge that, but all I can say is that I have been doing well for the team.
‘I’d say I still have a lot to do and a lot more to offer. I still need to be more clinical in front of goals and take the right decisions at the right time. I feel like I’ve done well in my first season here.’
Maboe and his Sundowns teammates have other things to focus on, though, as they are set to host eight-time African champions Al Ahly in the Caf Champions League at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday, with kick-off at 3pm.
