Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane believes Orlando Pirates are still in the running to win the Absa Premiership title this season.
The Buccaneers suffered a major setback in the race to claim the league title after playing out to a 2-2 draw against Cape Town City at Athlone Stadium last weekend.
Mosimane congratulated coach Milutin Sredojevic and assistant coaches Rhulani Mokwena and Fadlu Davids for what they have accomplished this season.
He added that the Soweto giants should not be ruled out of the league title race, as they stand as good a chance as Sundowns do.
‘Jingles’ believes the Mighty Buccaneers are not out of it.
'[Orlando] Pirates are still in it,’ said Mosimane.
‘They tried hard, they kept the same team for two years, they kept the same coach and increased the personnel and they really showed they want it. I said it, they can win, and if they win I will congratulate Micho [Milutin Sredojevic], Rhulani [Mokwena] and Fadlu [Davids].’
Mamelodi Sundowns will take on Free State Stars in their final Absa Premiership game of the season at Goble Park on Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.
