With the Nedbank Cup final rapidly approaching, Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat insists that his side will have to be at their best when they take on National First Division (NFD) side TS Galaxy at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

The Glamour Boys will have another opportunity to end their three-year trophy drought, and put an end to their run of 1470 days without lifting silverware.

After Billiat was rested for their round of 32 encounter against Tornado FC, he has featured in all the remaining Nedbank Cup fixtures, while bagging two goals in the process.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns star’s performance throughout the campaign has not gone unnoticed, as he has recently earned himself a nomination for the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament award alongside teammate Bernard Parker, and TS Galaxy’s in-form man, Zakhele Lepasa.

‘This is the big one,’ Billiat told his club’s official website. ‘We don’t have to be reminded about the importance of this game. We need to close the season by putting smiles on our supporters’ faces. We need to give them what they deserve.’

‘I’m not really thinking about any individual awards because the team comes first. As long as the team wins, I will be very happy. Everyone will have to bring their best performance because the supporters deserve it.’

Kaizer Chiefs against TS Galaxy kicks off at 7pm.
