Kaizer Chiefs central defender Lorenzo Gordinho could be set to leave the club this transfer window, his agent Mike Makaab, has confirmed.
The 25-year-old endured a roller-coaster 2018-19 season, where he started the campaign at Bloemfontein Celtic and produced some rock-solid performances at the heart of the Celtic defence.
He was then brought back to Naturena for the final five months of the season, but struggled to break into Ernst Middendorp’s starting eleven.
With just one year left on his current deal with Chiefs, Gordinho’s agent, Mike Makaab of ProSport International, is expecting the club to make more changes.
‘Possibly, Gordinho might leave Chiefs,’ Makaab told Goal.
With Chiefs enduring one of their worst-ever campaigns, they have looked to make a number of changes at the club and have already let a number of players leave after mutually terminating their contracts.
Amakhosi have let go of Ryan Moon, Kgotso Malope, Hendrick Ekstein, Bhongolwethu Jayiya, Virgil Vries and Gustavo Paez in recent weeks, and it looks as though Gordinho may be the next man on the list.
Gordinho is a Chiefs academy product, and was promoted to the team in 2013. He has won two league titles at Naturena, and the 25-year-old will have no shortage of suitors, should Amakhosi terminate his contract.
