New Kaizer Chiefs midfielder James Kotei believes that he and his teammates have to show fight to get the club back into the Caf Champions League.
Kotei, who signed for the club in the current transfer window, has expressed his ambition to help Chiefs get back into the Champions League.
The Ghanaian played Champions League football with his former club Simba and is keen to get his new club back into Africa’s top cup competition.
‘For sure for a club like Kaizer Chiefs, they have what it takes to play in the Champions League because they have done it before, so it’s not something new for the club.
‘It’s about the players to put the club there and fight just as Sundowns players are fighting for their club. We also have to fight for the club, no matter what, so that Kaizer Chiefs can come up again.
‘Every man has to have a dream. You just can’t be employed and say you are just there. You must have a dream. I’m here to work and if Chiefs gets to a higher level, then my CV will be better, so it’s all about the mentality.’
After an opening-day win against Highlands Park, the Soweto giants will take on Black Leopards at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday evening.
