Kaizer Chiefs defender Daniel Cardoso believes their character and fighting spirit will help them to maintain their current form in the Absa Premiership.
The 30-year-old has featured in all four of Amakhosi’s league games this campaign in which they picked up three wins and one draw.
They currently unbeaten in the league and sit at the top of the standings with 10 points from four matches played so far this campaign.
Cardoso insists that his side will continue to fight after recently coming from behind to beat Cape Town City in their previous league encounter at Newlands Stadium.
‘Coming back shows we were ready for the fight and we have character. We showed the same spirit against Highlands Park. It shows what this team is about sticking together. We are ready for the fight. This fire and spirit will take us far,’ Cardoso told his club’s official website.
‘This is our best start since the 2014/15 season. Hopefully we can continue in this way. Starting strong and collecting points early on is good. We need to collect as many points as we can in the first half of the season, which will be vital for us as the season goes on.’
