Bafana Bafana international Lebogang Phiri believes Percy Tau has been exceptional since parting ways with Mamelodi Sundowns and moving to Europe.

The Bafana forward is currently on loan at Jupiler Pro League team Club Brugge from Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion.

Tau has had a dream start to life in Belgium, having already bagged two goals and an assist to help Brugge qualify for the Uefa Champions League where they will take on Paris Saint-German, Real Madrid and Galatasaray in Group A.

Phiri, who plays for Guingamp in the French league, says he has been impressed by what the former Sundowns star has accomplished in Belgium so far.

‘He’s been exceptional. Really‚ he’s been exceptional‚’ Phiri told the media.

‘I mean‚ he’s so small. But he’s doing things that are very‚ very big.

‘It’s a great honour as well to have a player doing very well at that level‚ and so consistently as well. And being a player who’s new‚ as well‚ in the world of European football. And he’s giving us [South African players] a good name as well.’
