Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Kearyn Baccus is satisfied with the outcome as Amakhosi fought hard to snatch all three points away from AmaZulu.
The Glamour Boys claimed their fourth win in the Absa Premiership after securing a 2-0 victory over Usuthu at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old made his sixth appearance in the league and managed to claim an assist against AmaZulu to walk away with his first man-of-the-match award.
‘I’m happy for the win and that’s the most important thing at the end of the day, the boys played well and fought to the end,’ Baccus told SuperSport TV post-game.
‘Credit to AmaZulu, they played well, especially in the first half, they made it very hard for us but the boys fought till the end. I’m happy with the result.
‘Last week we were unlucky [in a 1-0 loss to Polokwane City]. I think we’ve played some good football in patches, we were just unlucky, we could have played two 90-minutes games, but it just couldn’t happen.’
Kaizer Chiefs will next welcome AmaZulu to the FNB Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Saturday, with kick-off set for 6pm.
