Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has admitted that although he thinks Kaizer Chiefs have been benefiting from refereeing mistakes, the Glamour Boys still deserve credit for their fine form.
Chiefs ran out 2-0 winners at Loftus Versfeld on Sunday afternoon, where yet again Mosimane lambasted match officials after Amakhosi’s opener appeared to be offisides.
The Downs coach was vocal in the buildup to the game about the poor officiating which has benefited Chiefs in recent weeks, but also believes that the Soweto giants deserve credit for the fight they have shown this season.
‘They’ve got more fight and spirit now. Yes, they benefit from referees, but I don’t want to discredit them. We must never confuse the fight and will of the team with the referees’ mistakes. No. They come back from 1-0 or 2-1, they must be given credit. But there’s an angel there that is helping them,’ Mosimane told reporters.
‘Our defence was good, probably I can say the attack did not take their chances. But I am not worried, I am upset, of course. I am not happy we lost, but not unhappy in the matter the players fought to win the match. We must accept the things as they are. They tried to win, to score, but we missed a lot. We lost a tough game,’ he added.
