Mamelodi Sundowns earned a valuable away point to remain top of Group C in the Caf Champions League after a tight 0-0 draw with Wydad Casablanca on Saturday evening.

Sundowns, who have never won against Wydad, has the first chance of the game as Gaston Sirino went close with a snapshot after 17 minutes.

The Moroccans though were also threatening and after a couple of attacks was week dealt with by the Sundwons defence they eventually called Denis Oyango into action on 39 minutes as he kept out the home side hosts before the break.

Downs though also had a chance at the end of the half as Thapelo Morena was slipped through on goal, but Ahmed Tagnaouti produced a good one-on-one save.

The home side started the second on the front foot but they were met by a determined and disciplined Downs side who were looking to give nothing away

Sirino tried his luck from distance with 76 minutes gone but his effort sailed just wide as both sides were struggling to create clear cut opportunities.

Wydad continued to push forward toward the end of the encounter but Downs remained firm and earned their point after a hard fought 0-0 draw.
