Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt will be looking to add a couple of more players to his squad following their draw with Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Clever Boys missed the chance to close the gap on log-leaders Kaizer Chiefs after playing out to a 1-1 draw with Sundowns on Tuesday evening.
However, Hunt would like to reinforce his squad during the January transfer window as he only has a 21-man contingent.
‘We just need a little more quality, we’re struggling in one or two areas, we only got 21 players. We’re down to bare minimum, so we need one or two that’s for sure. You come into the new season, you don’t know whether it’s going to be good or bad,’ Hunt told SuperSport TV after the game.
‘Right now, how many games have we played? Ten games, how many points? For a team of our size, if I would have taken it at the beginning of the season? I would have taken it with the situation we’re in.
‘I mean Chiefs is well on top, right now we’ve only played ten games, 20 games left and I’ve always said the more we play, the better we all get. We weren’t playing at all at the beginning when everybody was playing, so we’re trying to find our rhythm and I think these games [in hand] will help us the more we play.
‘We have another one on Friday which is a quick turnaround. We could’ve had another day but … and they will be fresh and waiting, you know what I mean? But we’ll certainly get better, we need one or two more bodies, that’s for sure.’
