Kaizer Chiefs have given an update on the extended future of three senior players on Wednesday afternoon.

The Glamour Boys announced that Willard Katsande, Bernard Parker and Daniel Akpeyi have all pledged their loyalty to the club by extending their contracts.

Akpeyi, who joined the club from Chippa United in January last year on a one-and-a-half-year deal, will now remain at the club until June 2022.

The Nigeria international established himself as Amakhosi’s first-choice goalkeeper after Itumeleng Khune was sidelined through numerous injuries. He has since kept eight clean sheets from 18 appearances across all competitions so far this season.

Meanwhile, as one of Amakhosi’s longest-serving players, Parker extended his stay at the club after putting pen to paper on a one-year deal which keeps him there until June 2021.

The 33-year-old has played a crucial role in the team’s success this season and has already managed to created two assists from 18 appearances in all competitions, although he is yet to find the net.

Katsande has committed his future to the club after signing a new one-year deal, which will have him remain at the club until June 2021.

The 34-year-old has been an integral part of the team this campaign and one of the standout performers in midfield, having assisted one goal in 16 appearances across all competitions.
