Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp is not worrying about the Absa Premiership title as he is solely focused on the remaining games of their season.
The Glamour Boys failed to stretch their lead at the top of the league standings after suffering a 2-1 defeat by Maritzburg United at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
Amakhosi remain at the summit with 45 points after 20 matches played so far this campaign, despite suffering their third defeat of the season.
However, Middendorp is not thinking about their current league position and wants to forget about the title race and focus on their games ahead.
‘It is another casual error from our side that got them their first goal,’ Middendorp his club’s official website.
‘From there on, it was a confusion that allowed them to get their second goal. But at Chiefs we win and lose together, so, we will not point fingers at anyone.
‘It is not about the league title. I’ve said it before … we must forget about the title race at this stage, calm down and let us talk about the title at match 30 of the season. For now, yes, we have a lead, but it is just a position on the log.
‘It is game on. We have 10 more games to go and everyone of them will be crucial.’
Kaizer Chiefs will now travel to Highlands Park when the teams square off in the Nedbank Cup last 16 at the Makhulong Stadium on Saturday, with kick-off set for 3pm.
