Bloemfontein Celtic CEO Khumbulani Konco says he is only focusing on Tokelo Rantie’s on-field ability as the ill-disciplined forward attempts to earn a deal with Siwelele.

After an ill-fated spell in Turkey, Rantie moved back to South Africa to join Cape Town City in 2019 looking to get his career back on track.

His time in the Mother City though didn’t last long as his contract was terminated due to weight and discipline issues.

Pitso Mosimane then decided to take a punt of the forward as he trained with Downs throughout pre-season. Rantie managed to impress Pitso and earned a three-year-contract at Chloorkop.

However, after just a few months Rantie went awol and subsequently had his contract cancelled by the Brazilians.

Rantie was yet another lifeline as he began training with Celtic a few weeks ago.

Celtic CEO Konco told KickOff.com that he is not in a hurry to hand the player a contract, though, and that the technical team will judge his performance in training before a decision is made.

‘We all know what Rantie is capable of doing on the field of play. We’re only focused on what he can do best on the field,’ said Konco.

‘He is still training with us. We are not in a hurry. We will wait for the technical team to give us a report to determine his performance at training.’
