The Premier Soccer League will hold an urgent EXCO and press conference on Monday after South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa announcement on the growing Coronavirus pandemic.
Ramaphosa confirmed that all gatherings of 100 people or more will now be prohibited, meaning that supporters will not be allowed to watch live games if they decide to play behind closed doors or suspend all league fixtures.
The PSL and the South African Football Association (Safa) are yer to make an official word on whether or not the upcoming fixtures will be played behind closed doors.
The PSL have since confirmed that they will hold an urgent EXCO and press conference on Monday, while releasing the following statement on the matter which reads:
The Premier Soccer League, the largest event organiser in South Africa, in its response to the State President’s announcement that gatherings of more than 100 people be prohibited, will be holding an urgent meeting of its Executive Committee on Monday, 16 March 2020 at 12h00 noon after which a press conference will be held to announce the details of its programme going forward.
