Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says he would like to see the likes of Themba Zwane and Sibusiso Vilakazi be more adventurous in front of goal.
With nine games left in the season, the Brazilians find themselves in second place in the Absa Premiership standings with 44 points from 21 games, four points behind current log leaders Kaizer Chiefs.
However, Sundowns’ attempt to secure their third consecutive title was put on hold after the league was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
With Zwane sitting on 12 goals and Vilakzi on 10 goals across all competitions, Mosimane is pleased with the duo’s performance but would like to see them attack more in the final third.
With over 100 appearances for the Brazilians and 25-plus goals, Vila is a serious threat in- ront of goal and coach Pitso has always been an avid supporter of the Bafana Bafana and Downs frontman.
‘Sometimes my players are naughty when they are trying to play their way out. Too many small passes. But you know, I don’t want to stop them because I’ve got to let them to play to their potential,’ Mosimane told his club’s official website.
‘Because if you don’t let Vila and Themba Zwane to play those passes, then you are taking them out of the game. I wish they could shoot more, but they like to enjoy the game. It’s also good for football and for people to see.’
