Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila – the club that bought the top-flight status of Bidvest Wits – could face sanctions from Fifa after the club was reported to the footballing authority regarding alleged unpaid salaries.

The club has been out of action since March due to the coronavirus pandemic, and during the break the club revealed that head coach Vladislav Heric was put on a special leave.

TTM, however, have been distracted by the process of buying Wits’ status and preparing for their debut season in the top flight. It appears that Heric is not part of those plans as he is yet to return to the club to see out the season.

The Serbian coach has since revealed that he and his representative have taken TTM to Fifa because the club had not been paying his salary.

‘We took them to Fifa because in seven months I only got paid once. I tried by all means to make a settlement agreement but it never came through. I want the club to pay me what they owe me and walk away. I had no choice but to take them to Fifa,’ he told SoccerLaduma.

‘I never ever had the explanation [about special leave] – not in writing and nothing verbal. I don’t know what happened. I don’t know why I was put on special leave. They gave me the papers a couple of days before the president [Cyril Ramaphosa] announced the lockdown and I left. I don’t know what’s happening in that club as nobody [in senior management] called me. Only the PRO and my assistant and some members of the technical team called me when I lost my dad. But the management and the chairman never called me,’ the coach said.

Last month TTM had to pay outstanding salaries to Malawi international striker Atusaye Nyondo to avoid a Fifa sanction.
