Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands is grateful to have helped his side secure all three points after saving two penalties against SuperSport United on Saturday.

The Buccaneers managed to secure the win after defeating Matsatsantsa 2-1 at Emirates Airline Park in Johannesburg.

The wins see Pirates move up to fourth place in the Absa Premiership standings level on 46 points with Bidvest Wits, while SuperSport remains in third place with 47 points after 28 matches played so far this season.

Sandilands, who was named Man of the Match for his performance, is delighted to see his side walk away with all three points after putting in a good shift for the Soweto giants.

‘I’m happy for the three points, since we’ve been in the bio-bubble it has been a hard grind for us but I’m super happy that we can come away with three points,’ Sandilands told SuperSport TV after the game.

‘For us it’s good, the vibe now going back to the hotel will be a little bit better that it has been. So we’re looking forward to it.

‘Sometimes it goes your way on the day so I’m grateful that I was able to help the team and that it was our day today, we got the three valuable points that we needed.’
