AmaZulu have confirmed the official appointment of former striker Ayanda Dlamini as their permanent head coach.

Dlamini, who initially took over the helm as interim coach when Jozef Vukusic left the club in February following a poor run of results in the Absa Premiership.

In his first match in charge alongside Moeneeb Josephs, Dlamini led the team to a massive 1-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs, which gave them the confidence to fight against relegation. AmaZulu won two, drew four and lost one match, subsequently avoiding relegation and finishing 13th on the log.

Usuthu have now shown their faith in the 35-year-old by handing him a three-year contract.
