Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teboho Mokoena has urged the club’s supporters to continue to rally behind them as they prepare to take on Al Ahly in the Caf Champions League on Saturday.
The 25-year-old joined Sundowns from Tshwane rivals SuperSport United during the January transfer window after signing a three-and-a-half-year deal with an option of an additional year at Chloorkop.
Mokoena has since featured in Sundowns’ first two games in the Champions League when they defeated Al Hilal 1-0 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium before playing out to a goalless draw with Al Merreikh at the Al Merreikh Stadium in Cairo.
The Bafana Bafana player will now be hoping to feature when Sundowns travel to the Cairo International Stadium to take on Al Ahly in their third Group A encounter on Saturday evening.
“Champions league, it’s almost similar to the national team level because almost all the players competing are playing for their national teams,” Mokoena told his club’s official website.
“The fans have always been of great support to the club, we love and appreciate them and our humble plea is for them to continue to rally behind us.”
