Mamelodi Sundowns attacking midfielder Neo Maema knows how tough it is playing Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium, but believes his side are capable of walking away with maximum points.
The Brazilians are currently sitting on 51 points from 22 games at the top of the DStv Premiership standings, 18 points above second-placed Royal AM.
The 26-year-old has been ever present in the Sundowns squad and missed only three matches while scoring four goals and assisting a further five.
However, Maema is confident his side can extend their lead by claiming all three points away from home when they take on the Team of Choice.
“I believe we have started the year very well and we are taking each game as it comes to complete this cycle of games in the league. It’s never easy to play Maritzburg away but we have the team that is capable of getting maximum points over the weekend,” Maema told his club’s official website.
“The coaches and the rest of the technical team always do their ultimate best to ensure that we are prepared thoroughly to face any opposition. We work for each other on the pitch and that helps us to break down opposition. We will just apply ourselves accordingly and put up a good fight to come back home victorious.
“It would be a dream come true for me and the thought of it makes it even sweeter and we will fight until the end because we are a team with its own ambitions so every game is important – to win the title and the rest of the remaining games.”
