Lesiba Ngoepe smashed 114 from 63 balls as South Africa A beat a Zimbabwe XI by 22 runs in Harare on Wednesday to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match T20 series.
The decision to move Ngoepe up the order to open the batting with Reeza Hendricks paid off as they produced a 142-run stand in 12.3 overs.
Ngoepe’s outstanding knock included 13 fours and five sixes, while Hendricks smashed nine boundaries and four maximums in his 77 off 35.
Tristan Stubbs then hit 17* from nine balls as SA A posted a massive 224-4.
In reply, the hosts made 202-9 with captain Sikandar Raza smashing 82 from 42 balls.
Lizaad Williams took 3-38, while Bjorn Fortuin and Gerald Coetzee picked up two wickets each.
The third match will take place at the same venue on Friday.
