Despite the rest of the league wrapping up this weekend, Orlando Pirates still have three games left to play with their season extended until 1 June.

The Premier Soccer League confirmed on Monday that the Sea Robbers will finish their season on 1 June due to their participation in the Caf Confederation Cup final this Friday.

The Buccaneers will play Moroccan side Berkane in the decider at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria on Friday.

The match against Maritzburg United has been rescheduled for 25 May at Orlando Stadium at 7:30pm. While the fixture against Royal AM at Chatsworth Stadium will now take place on 29 May at 3pm and the game against SuperSport United, initially scheduled for this Saturday, will now take place on 1 June at Lucas Moripe Stadium at 7:30pm.

Fortunately for the league, Pirates’ remaining games will have no significant impact on the log standings with the champions already crowned and the relegation battle set to potentially be decided without the teams the Soweto giants still have to play.

While Maritzburg are also involved in the relegation scrap, they could be safe this weekend if one of Baroka, Swallows or TS Galaxy face automatic relegation and one participates in the playoffs.

Saturday’s fixtures (all kick-offs at 3pm)

Maritzburg vs Baroka, Harry Gwala; Chiefs vs Swallows, FNB; Stellenbosch vs CPT City, Danie Craven; AmaZulu vs Arrows, Moses Mabhida, Chippa vs Galaxy, Nelson Mandela Bay; Gallants vs Sekhukhune, Peter Mokaba; Royal vs Sundowns, Chatsworth.
