Manchester City cruised to a 2-0 victory over Chelsea to progress to the last 16 of the League Cup on Wednesday as Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur crashed out.

Manchester City 2-0 Chelsea

Goals from Riyad Mahrez and Julian Alvarez were enough to see Manchester City defeat Chelsea 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium to progress through to the round of 16 of the Carabao Cup, with goalkeeper Stefan Ortega making two crucial saves to help City maintain their clean sheet.

Liverpool 0(3)-0(2) Derby

Caoimhin Kelleher once again proved to be the hero in the penalty shootout as Liverpool scraped into the next round after claiming a 3-2 win in the shootout against Derby after the game ended goalless after 90 minutes at Anfield.

Nottingham Forest 2-0 Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur were eliminated from the Carabao Cup after they fell to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest through goals from Renan Lodi and Jesse Lingard at City Ground as Forest progressed to the next round of the competition.

Arsenal 1-3 Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton & Hove Albion came from behind to knock Arsenal out of the Carabao Cup after they secured a 3-1 win in their third-round tie when Eddie Nketiah’s opening goal was cancelled out by goals from Danny Welbeck, Kaoru Mitoma and Tariq Lamptey at the Emirates Stadium.
