Kaizer Chiefs defender Edmilson Dove has opened up about his desire to win the Nedbank Cup trophy with the club ahead of their upcoming quarter-final clash against Royal AM at the Chatsworth Stadium on Sunday evening.
The Soweto giants made their way to this stage of the competition after they defeated Motsepe Foundation Championship side Casric Stars FC 2-1 through goals from Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and Ashley Du Preez at the FNB Stadium in Soweto.
Royal AM, meanwhile, secured their progression to this stage of the competition after they claimed a 3-1 victory over Golden Arrows at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban.
Dove, who has made two appearances in the competition, says his side are working extremely hard to ready themselves for the upcoming encounter as they look to clinch their first piece of silverware this season.
“We know it’s a difficult cup to win, I guess every team has their plan for getting a trophy in the cabinet but that has been our desire as well,” Dove was quoted on Nedbank Cup Sports Twitter page.
“The coaches have been speaking about it with us and we’ve been working extremely hard during training to make sure that we take one game at a time and we’ll do the counting at the end.”
