Cape Town Spurs CEO Alexi Efstathiou has urged the club’s supporters to come out in numbers ahead of their final Motsepe Foundation Championship clash against the University of Pretoria on Sunday.
The Urban Warriors will come into this fixture high in confidence after they defeated NB La Masia 2-1 in their previous game at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.
Spurs are now one win away from gaining automatic promotion to the DStv Premiership next season as they prepare to face the University of Pretoria at Athlone Stadium in Cape Town.
The Cape side currently sits at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship with 56 points, one point ahead of second placed Casric Stars and two ahead of Polokwane City in third position after 29 matches.
“It’s obviously a big game for us on Sunday, important in the history of CT Spurs,” Efstathiou said.
“Much has happened over the past few years, with many challenges facing the club. However, we have persevered up to this point and stayed true to our values.
“Sunday will be a culmination of all these years, in 90 minutes of football.
“We urge those who love football in Cape Town, to put on their red and white, and be there at 3pm to push our team past the winning post!”
