Cape Town Spurs secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Maritzburg United at Athlone Stadium to grab top spot in the PSL Promotion play-off standings.

The first 10 minutes of the game were very fast-paced, with both teams fighting for control of the ball.

In the 15th minute of the game, Michael Morton was in the right place inside the Maritzburg box to head home a ball that the other team’s goalkeeper had mishandled. This gave Spurs the lead.

Even though Maritzburg attacked a lot in the last few minutes, Spurs held on and won an important 1-0 game.

Spurs will now play Casric Stars at the Athlone Stadium on Wednesday, June
