Sekhukhune United have further bolstered their squad by acquiring the services of former Maritzburg United goalkeeper Renaldo Leaner.

The 25-year-old joins the club from Maritzburg united after putting pen to paper on a three-year contract at Babina Noko.

Leaner began his career at Ajax Cape Town Youth Team at the age of 16 in 2014 before earning promotion to the senior team in 2019 where he spent two seasons with The Urban Warriors.

He then joined the Team of Choice in August 2021 where he made 16 appearances with six clean sheets in the 2022/23 DSTV Premiership season.

Leaner has represented South Africa at under 20 level in 2017 COSAFA Cup in Zambia and was also part of the University Sports South Africa Team (USSA) in Taipei and Italy.

“I am looking forward to the exciting DSTV Premiership League season with Babina Noko. I am going to work extremely hard to contribute to the success of the team while maintaining good image of the Club.”

He concluded by saying that, it is a good challenge to join excellent and strong team (Babina Noko) which makes him very happy.
