Sekhukhune United have promoted youngsters Vincent Mashego and Thabo Nkwana to the first team from the club’s development structure.

Babina Noko continued to bolster their squad by reinforcing youth into their squad with Mashego and Nkwana following the recent signing of goalkeeper Renaldo Leaner from Maritzburg United.

Thabo Nkwana is a promising right winger who is 23 years old. He has a lot of confidence and is determined to win a regular starting spot.

Vincent Mashego, a 23-year-old from Monsterlus in Groblersdal who started playing football with Young Aces (Mpumalanga Local Football Association) in 2013 before joining Middleburg United, was also added to the defence.

Nkwana, who was born in Riba Cross, Burgersfort, started playing football with the Baroka Football Club Diski Challenge Team. He will give the striking department the much-needed energy it needs.

Speaking on the promotion of Mashego and Nkwana, Sekhukhune coach Brandon Truter said: “Although these boys are hungry to don the Babina Noko jersey, we first need to patiently guide them.

“We also have to train them in order for themselves to gain confidence and belief.”

Meanwhile, the club chairman had this to say: “These exciting youngsters feed into our vision of promoting youth, as part of the team’s long-term vision which is to always to give back to the community by nurturing young talent.”
