Cape Town Spurs coach Shaun Bartlett is confident his side can compete with the best in the DStv Premiership and “exceed expectations” during the 2023-24 season.
After failing to secure automatic promotion to the top-flight Bartlett led his team to the DStv Premiership via the PSL playoffs after defeating Maritzburg United and Casric Stars.
As a result of his efforts during the 2022-23 season, the club rewarded Bartlett by handing him a new two-year contract.
After penning a new deal and securing promotion to the top-flight, Bartlett says the club is now focused on doing well among some of the best teams clubs in the country.
“It was a tough and long season but once we achieved our goal of getting promotion to the DStv Premiership, the next phase was to secure my future,” Bartlett told his club’s official website.
“I’m very ecstatic and delighted to have extended my stay by another two years.
“First year back in the Premiership with the club, we are obviously looking forward to that. We know it will be difficult but I think once we put a good squad together we can go and compete and maybe exceed expectations.”
