South African international Aphelele Teto says it’s always been his childhood dream to play in Europe following his move to Scottish side Livingston FC.
The 20-year-old earned his promotion to the Rockets senior team during the 2021-22 season and made 19 appearances in all competitions while registering two assists in the process.
His performance for Galaxy also earned him a call-up to the South African Under-23 squad and has featured in the Olympic Games and most recently in the Cosafa Cup and Chan qualifiers.
Teto will now link up with his new teammates in Scotland but has shown his gratitude toward Galaxy for giving him the opportunity to make his dream move abroad.
“I am very happy to have the opportunity to play for Livingston FC in the Scottish Premiership. It has always been my childhood dream to play football in Europe.
“I would like to thank TS Galaxy Football Club for giving me the opportunity to play professional football as well as our Head Coach for believing in me. I will do my best in Scotland and hopefully, my performance could open many doors for other South African youngsters,” said the 20-year-old.
We bid farwell to Aphelele Teto. We thank you for all the memories and the glory you brought to the club, and we pray for your success in this new chapter of your career with @LiviFCOfficial ❤️🚀@aQuelle @aQuelleViV#Siyadumuza #TheRockets #TSG pic.twitter.com/redx8XJBqC
