Mamelodi Sundowns new signing Bathusi Aubaas revealed that the Brazilians’ “winning mentality” attracted him to join the club.
The 28-year-old attracted interest from both Soweto giants Orland Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs but it was Sundowns who won the race for the highly-rated midfielder.
His stellar performances for TS Galaxy during the 2022/23 season earned him a call up to the Bafana Bafana squad, where he made his debut during their 2-1 victory over World Cup semi-finalist Morocco in their final Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Aubaas joins the Brazilians after spending five seasons with Highlands Park/TS Galaxy where he made 92 appearances across all competitions while scoring one goal and assisting a further goal.
The Bafana Bafana international becomes Sundowns’ fifth signing behind Lesiba Nku, Junior Mendieta, Lucas Ribeiro Costa and Thapelo Maseko.
“What attracted me to Sundowns, they have a winning mentality,” Aubaas told his new club.
“One thing I want to achieve in the club, I want to win a lot of titles.
“I’m not here to relax, I’m here to work and I’m here to learn. I’m here to add value to the team, I’m here to compete.”
