The Palermo is back in fresh, fruity colours. As a tribute to the shoe’s Sicilian namesake, the upcoming August drop includes two colourways, featuring vibrant schemes inspired by Palermo’s iconic scenery.

Two new PUMA Palermo colourways of Light Mint Orchid Shadow Gum and Silver Sky Cayenne Pepper Gum will be available from 5 August, from PUMA.com and Shelflife. Priced at R1899 each.

The Palermo was originally part of a special series of sneakers created by PUMA that paid homage to some of Europe’s most famous cities including London and Oslo.

This kick made its debut in 1980s football stadiums, where it was a staple among the terrace crowd. Today this icon of football culture makes its return for the streetwear world, complete with its signature tag at the upper, a T-toe construction, and a classic terrace gum sole.

Part of PUMA’s storied history, to this day, the Palermo’s unmistakable DNA evokes a deep sense of football nostalgia.
