Chippa United coach Morgan Mammila says his side will go back to the drawing board and rectify their mistake following their defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Chilli Boys are still looking for their first win in the DStv Premiership following their 2-0 defeat to Sundowns at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday.
Sundowns walked away with all three points after Aubrey Modiba grabbed the opener before Justice Chabalala put the ball into his own net.
The defeat leaves Chippa in 12th place on the log with three points, while Sundowns remain at the top of the table with 12 points from four matches.
Following their defeat, Mammila is already focused on claiming their first win when they take on Cape Town Spurs in their next match on friday.
“I was encouraging him,” Mammila told SuperSport TV.
“Once you always there in the kitchen you will end up getting something to eat. He’s always there, sometimes he creates by himself, it was just a matter of shooting, he trusts himself too much.
“But back to training on Monday, we’ll rectify [our mistakes] and I’m looking forward to the next game on Friday, where we can rectify all the mistakes.
“On thing for sure, we gave it all, credit to my boys they played according to instructions/
“We wanted Sundowns not to dominate from the first five to 10 minutes and we did that. They couldn’t’ even combine four or five passes together because we were all over them.
“As I said, we’re not a defensive team, we press from the top again. As I said before the match, I said the only difference is Sundowns are clinical.
“It’s my job as a coach to make sure that the players pass the back of the net. It’s a work in progress.”
