Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro was left disappointed and felt his side “deserved more” than a point in the DStv Premiership encounter against AmaZulu.
The Buccaneers were forced to share the spoils with Usuthu after they played out to a goalless draw at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The draw saw Pirates move up to 13th place in the league standings with eight points after six games, while AmaZulu are placed 10th with 11 points from nine matches.
Riveiro says he is taking positives away from the game as they build on their next encounter against Polokwane City on Friday.
“Disappointed with the result, obviously I think our performance deserved more than a nil-nil game, like I’m used to saying it’s a scoring game and we didn’t, so that’s why we’re running with only one point,” Riveiro told SuperSport TV after the game.
“We tried everything, I have a feeling we’re doing a lot of things very well, that’s something that makes me feel positive for the future, we’re getting close to the space we want to be.
“Usually we (balance) the performance and the result (but) today we didn’t score, that’s probably the only thing we missed, the last touch to the net but I think everything else, there’s not much to say.
“It was a strange first-half. I think it was something to do with the interruptions. When we were at our best the game was interrupted several times and we lost the tempo in the first-half. And the second-half we tried everything and we had chances but ja this is football.”
