Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena reveals they “pay attention to every small detail” in their preparations leading up to their comfortable victory over FC Nouadhibou in the Caf Champions League.
The Brazilians begin the group stages with a positive result after they claimed a comfortable 3-0 victory over the Mauritanian outfit on Sunday.
Sundowns cruised to victory thanks to goals by Lucas Ribeiro Costa, Peter Shalulile and Gastón Sirino at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
As a result, Sundowns occupy the top spot in Group A with three points while FC Nouadhibou dropped to the bottom of the group with zero points.
Mokwena admits they are very meticulous during training which has helped them excel across all fronts.
“Congratulations to the club. I think the turnout of the supporters was amazing,” Mokwena told his club’s official website.
“It was great to see them happy and support the team in the manner that they did. Congratulations to the players too, who played and represented the club very well.
“Pressure is built from expectation and expectation comes as a result of being able to have shown that you have the capacity to do it.
“The only way to deal with that is by preparation and working very hard to ensure that the team improves and gets better. We pay attention to every small detail and we go game by game.”
